Shannon Suzanne Brown is a classically trained vocalist and elementary school educator. Shannon started singing when she was a young child. When Shannon was eight, she auditioned for Fort Wayne Children’s Choir and began singing regularly with them. The choir performed works in French and German and Shannon’s first solos were in German. When the choir travelled to Canada to perform, Shannon loved every minute of it!
Throughout her years of school, Shannon continued to sing and grow, taking private lessons from Sara Davis, voice faculty at IPFW (Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne). In elementary school Shannon continued singing solos, and in high school she joined the Girls' Select Choir and Carroll Show Choir. It was becoming clear that music was a passion for Shannon.
In early adulthood, Shannon was blessed with the opportunity to perform with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Chorus and performed various Christmas concerts with them. In college, Shannon fell in love with studying opera! She began developing her voice as a coloratura soprano and went on to sing in opera groups in Los Angeles. Highlights included her performances with Center Stage Opera (as a chorus member in La Traviata) and with Intimate Opera. Shannon also continued studying voice privately with various classical vocal instructors.
In addition to voice, Shannon found she has a passion for education and began working as an elementary school teacher. It is with great joy that Shannon discovered music education. In private lessons, students find that their lessons are personally tailored to help them meet their musical goals and interests. Shannon offers lessons in person, or online.
